Great place to end the Imbros hike. The food was homemade, fresh and tasty. Excellent moussaka. Greek salad on point, beer cold and satisfying. Service was pretty quick a the prices are reasonable. Taxi to the top was quick, €7pp with a minimum charge for 4 people. We were only 3 people but the restaurant found extra people so we just got charged per person. The only negative was other tourists who argued everything and seemed to think the restaurant should be some kind of public service for cheap taxis and free toilets.

Located right at the lower exit of the Imbros Gorge, this taverna wowed us with some of the best food we had in Crete. The Gemista ( stuffed tomatoes ) and delicious soutsoukakia (oven meatballs) were absolutely delicious. Lovely panoramic view and friendly service, such a great way to end the Imbros Gorge hike! The owner's father drove us back to the upper entrance in his pickup truck for 28 euros, which seemed expensive but was worth the experience as he was a very funny local character and the ride is a good 25 minute of steep switchback roads.
